Thinking about hiring us for small projects but not sure how it all works? You’re not alone. We get these questions all the time, so we figured we’d put them all in one place. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect when you bring BEC Innovations in for your small home projects.
How do I pay you?
Easy. Once the work is complete, we’ll send you an invoice via email with a link to pay online. We accept ACH, credit cards, and checks. If you’re having us out for multiple projects or repeat work, we will invoice by day so that our records are up to date and easy to understand. No need to dig for cash or leave a check under the doormat.
How do I know what this will cost?
We price small project work in 2 hour blocks, with a two-hour minimum. If you’ve got a bigger list or a more involved repair, we’re happy to give you an estimate ahead of time. We do our best to give realistic ballparks based on the information you give us – photos help a lot! That said, we’re not in the business of dragging things out. Most of our clients tell us we work more quickly and efficiently than expected.
Do you bring materials?
We bring basic tools and common supplies (caulk, screws, nails, drywall patches, etc.). If your project requires specialty items (a new faucet, specific light fixture, or lumber) we’ll either source them for you or let you know exactly what to pick up. If we do the shopping, that time is billed at our hourly rate and materials are marked up at 50%.
Do I have to be home?
Not necessarily. If we’ve worked with you before or if you’re comfortable leaving access instructions, we’re happy to get the job done while you’re at work or running errands. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and send photos if needed. That said, for first-time clients or jobs that involve a walkthrough, we may ask that you’re there to kick things off.
